Permanent Makeup: Advantages vs. Disadvantages
What advantages does permanent makeup have?
There are multiple advantages to having permanent makeup. It depends on the area in which it is applied.
· You will always seem to be made up. You will always look your best, when you have had the work professionally and adequately done.
· It can correct small imperfections.
· It can correct asymmetry in the lips as well as inequalities in the lips thickness.
· It can beautify the lips. Remove grooves around the mouth. Hide wrinkles caused by smoking or the aging process.
· It can augment the contours of the lips.
· It can fix the lack of eyebrows or missing eyebrows due to excessive plucking or scars.
· The eyebrows are very important because they frame the face. Normal aging can cause thinning. With permanent makeup we can achieve the eyebrows we desire permanently.
· With eye liner we can achieve a very natural line on the upper and lower lash line, emphasizing and completing the eyes.
· We can give thickness to the lashes with a fine line on the lash line.
· Discolorations of the skin can be covered with permanent makeup. Adding color to the areas that lack color thus disguising the problem.
· Permanent makeup can be applied to areolas to hide scars left behind after surgery. Including producing a new areola in the case of mastectomy.
What are the disadvantages or contraindications of permanent makeup?
· Permanent makeup cannot be applied over freckles, warts, moles, or lesions.
· Permanent makeup cannot be applied to persons who are HIV positive, allergic, or people with serious ailments.
· One cannot have permanent makeup performed during ones pregnancy. To people with hepatitis, people taking blood thinners or anticoagulants, people under chemotherapy, or someone with diabetes.
· One cannot be exposed to the sun for a few days after treatment.
· Once the treatment is performed there will be swelling in the skin from the trauma of the repeated needle penetration.
· For a few days after treatment and until the scarring process is done we will have a small scab on the skin.
· Another disadvantage is that if you want to maintain the permanent makeup, there will have to be some touch-ups now and again to obtain a favorable result.
· If it's not administered by an excellent professional the results can be unsightly and unnatural looking.
